Socks for My Son

Since he's the only one in my family that I haven't made some for,
my son said "Mommy, when are you going to make me some socks"? He picked out the left over yarn I had from making my socks and I got to work. I wasn't really sure there was enough to finish them, but I guess I lucked out. Here they are:

Olympic Gold!!

Finished my Olympic socks last night. One trip to the frog pond but success at last. They seem a bit tight on my DD's feet, maybe my swatch was a tad off. She is happy with them and I guess I am too overall.

Baby Socks

I took a break from my Olympic socks to make these baby socks for a friend. I plan to make a matching hat. But for now, it's back to my Olympic socks.

The Agony of Defeat, then the Thrill of Victory

Well, last weekend I was knitting away on my Olympic socks and I happened to notice that the cuff was unravelling!! What!! I couldn't tell if my cat got it or my son, but nonetheless, I frogged it, I was on the heel too! Anyway, I finally got one sock done, here it is on it's owner's foot (my DD):

I Love Socks!

OK, I'm hooked!! These are sooo cool! I made these from Sokotta yarn that I got at my LYS and I love it! It was such an awesome feeling to put these babies on and know that I made them!! Can't wait to make some more!

First Socks!

I learned how to knit in November and ended up making everyone scarves for Christmas. My husband didn't want a scarf but wanted me to learn to make socks and make him some instead. So after much anticipation and frogging, they are finally done. They are heavy boot socks from a pattern that I got from my LYS. He wanted plain white and he is happy with how they turned out. The white got pretty boring after a while so I am excited to start some socks with some color!
